Canada Day in Gananoque

Canada Day 2020

Given the current pandemic, associated restrictions, and for public safety, The Town of Gananoque has cancelled all in-person Canada Day events planned for this year.

The Town will join other cities and communities across Canada that plan to celebrate a virtual Canada Day on July 1.

We may not be able to celebrate Canada Day like we normally do but we have some great ideas to help make it a truly memorable day celebrating separately together - Gananoque style!

Starting at noon, head outside when you hear the bells ring out from Grace, St. John's & St. Andrew's Church! Grab your flag and join us as we sing the National Anthem along with St. Andrew's Schulmerich Carillon.

  • Set up lawn chairs and visit with your neighbours on your own yard!
  • Definitely dress in your Canada Day Red and take lots of photos!
  • Ensure social distancing by limiting your circle to 10 people or less!
  • Musicians are encouraged to share their talent with your neighbours!

Drinks are not permitted off your property so please keep them in your own yard.

For more information on gatherings please visit the health unit:

And don't forget we also have our events listed below to help the community celebrate!

The schedule of online events is as follows:

11:00am - Raising of the Flag with the Town Crier - video presentation on Facebook

12:00pm – Church Bells ringing followed directly by the singing of the National Anthem

1:00pm - Video presentation on Facebook and Instagram

There will also be contests:
