Gananoque's Annual Christmas Basket Fund is now under way again this year.

The fund has been operating since the 1950's to ensure all of those families in the community who qualify, have an opportunity to enjoy a Christmas dinner.

Every year the fund collects money through donations and supplies food vouchers to all those families who qualify.

The vouchers can only be used for food purchased from the local grocery stores and cannot be exchanged for cash. As well, the grocery store will not provide change for any unused portion of the voucher.

People living in Gananoque and within a five mile radius of the community are served by the fund. Applications can be picked up and dropped off at the Town Hall during regular business hours from Monday November 18th to Monday December 16th. No phone calls please. Applications will not be accepted after December 16th.

Donations can be made at the Bank of Montreal or mailed to David Abeles, CPA/CGA, PO Box 504, Gananoque, ON, K7G 2V1. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations received.
