Premier Doug Ford announced yesterday that as of 12:01am December 26, 2020 the Province will be heading to a Lock Down. This comes forth as the number of cases has spiked in Ontario causing a strain on the healthcare system namely hospitals and long term care homes.

The Town of Gananoque Municipal Emergency Control Group (MECG) reconvened in the last two weeks largely due to the number of COVID cases within the Leeds Grenville Lanark District Health Unit (LHLDHU), specifically the west region, which includes Gananoque.
Today the government of Ontario announced that the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark region will move from the Green–Prevent level to the Yellow – Protect level of the Keeping Ontario Safe and Open COVID-19 Framework.
Leeds Grenville Community Paramedic Outreach Program is arranging for pop-up testing in Gananoque on December 10, 2020 in the Upstairs Hall at the Gananoque & TLTI Recreation Centre at 600 King Street East (enter through the North side entrance) from 10:00am to 4:00pm; no appointment is required.
We will be starting leisure skating as of December 7th and will be $3.00 per person.
All health and safety protocols MUST be followed.

The Town will be hosting our annual Winter Lights competition. Residents are encouraged to decorate their homes for the holiday season, a group of local judges will pick a winner from each ward (North, South, and West) and one award is given to the business with the best window/light display.
