Disruption in Service - Temporary Road Closure

Public Notices

There is currently a planned service disruption. The estimated time of the service disruption will be:

From: August 12, 2019

To: Late Fall, 2019

The Public Works Department would like to advise residents that Machar Street, between River Street and Adelaide Street will be temporarily closed (including weekends) to through vehicular and pedestrian traffic, tentatively starting on August 12, 2019, to facilitate the Replacement of the Hudson Bridge. Works pertaining to the Replacement of the Hudson Bridge are expected to complete late Fall of 2019. The Town would like to emphasize that the general area around this project is an active construction site, and would like to remind residents and visitor spectators to stay outside of designated construction areas, and abide by all posted construction signage, and instructions/directions from construction personnel.

The disruption includes: Removal of the existing bridge (Hudson Bridge), repairs to existing abutments and ballast walls, installation of new "Prefabricated Bailey Style Bridge", works on approach slabs, Hot Mix Paving and guardrail work.

On behalf of the Town of Gananoque, we would like to thank you for your patience in this matter.
