When: Saturday, June 27th, 2020, from 8:00 am to Noon at Public Works
The site will be new this year, as it will be hosted at the James A Brennan Road access point, where the Leaf, Yard Waste and Brush drop off is located. The event will be manned by By-Law and Public Works staff. There will be no charge this year as we will not be accepting cash, with the caveat that there is a maximum allowable amount of 1 half ton truck load, or equivalent trailer size load per household. Proof of Town residency will be required to be shown upon request to the By-Law officer. The scrap Steel Bin, and E-Waste bin are now located at this site as well for everyone’s convenience, as the main Public Works entrance off of Charles Street North is now closed to public access. The site remains open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8:00 am to Noon for Leaf, Yard Waste, Brush, Scrap Steel, and E-Waste.
Acceptable items include:
Appliances – Fridges, Stoves, Washing Machines, Dryers, Freezers, Microwaves (these items are for the steel bin)
Water Heaters – Hot Water Tanks
Furniture – Box Spring, Mattresses, Dressers, Couches, Chairs, Tables, etc.
Please note: This event is intended to allow residents to dispose of unused large items, and not for typical weekly household waste (what you would normally put at the curb for weekly curbside collection). This event will not accept Household Hazardous Waste. The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville will be hosting the annual Household Hazardous Waste Day later in the summer. I date has not been confirmed yet. Once the date has been set it will be communicated to residents.
The following materials will NOT be accepted: Household garbage, demolition materials, materials from businesses or contractors, tires larger than 24 inch diameter and hazardous waste.
PLEASE NOTE: This is for RESIDENTS ONLY. Proof of residency in Gananoque will be required.
