The Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit, under direction of the Province of Ontario, is again under a Stay-at-Home Order. The Order requires everyone to remain at home except for essential purposes such as going to grocery stores, pharmacies, health care such as vaccinations, outdoor exercise or work that cannot be conducted at home. The Order was extended for a total of six (6) weeks due to significant rise in the COVID cases that are causing large impacts on the health care system.
“While we may not see large numbers in our own community, it does not give us the right to become complacent,” stated Mayor Lojko. “Enjoy the fresh air and take a walk but let’s be smart about it and not gather in groups. And please, get your vaccine.” To continue the fight, the Province is dedicated to doing everything possible to get as many vaccines in people’s arms as quickly and safely as possible.
- Beginning Tuesday, April 20, 2021, Ontario will offer the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to individuals aged 40+ at pharmacies and primary care settings across the province. Locally, Shoppers Drug Mart in Gananoque will be administering vaccines by appointment only. Call or visit their website to make an appointment.
