Council Meeting Highlights – January 11, 2022

Town News
  • The CAO will bring forward a report on February 1st to present options with regards to the future use of 400 Stone Street North (former Kinsmen Building).

  • Council appointed Councillor Adrian Haird to sit on the Housing Affordability Task Force with Councillor Osmond as the alternate.  Jim Garrah was appointed as the non-elected official.

  • Council directed staff to bring forward a report regarding the potential use of the upstairs room at the arena as a possible Senior Centre

  • Council did not move a motion to approve a grant to the Frontenac Arch Biosphere.

  • Council approved the 1st and 2nd reading of the By-law to adopt the 2022 Operating and Capital Budgets and the Water and Wastewater rates.  The 3rd and final reading will take place on February 1st, 2022.

  • Council approved allowing the continuation of Urban Hens to be raised in Town and increased the annual permit renewal fee to $50.00.
