Gananoque, ON: The Town of Gananoque is pleased to advise that Eastern Ontario Power (EOP) and Hydro One continue to make improvements to the Gananoque Power System. Just last week Eastern Ontario Power representative, Jie Han updated the Town explaining that, “EOP and Hydro One continue to work closely on the project improving the power system reliability for the Town of Gananoque and surrounding areas. As part of the project, EOP and Hydro One signed the agreement to install 44kv switches in 2017 between Hydro One feeders. EOP and Hydro One are preparing plans to rebuild the section of line between Highway 401 and Joyceville Road. This portion of the project will be completed in 2018 as planned.”

Mayor Demchuk commented that, “The Town of Gananoque is pleased with the work both Eastern Ontario Power and Hydro One have completed to date. We will continue to share information updates as the plan is further implemented.”

MPP Steve Clark added, “As Mayor Demchuk and I have stressed, having a reliable supply of power is absolutely essential to the businesses and residents of Gananoque. I’m pleased the critical upgrades Eastern Ontario Power and Hydro One are making as a result of the concerns brought forward by the community remain on schedule.”
