Gananoque goes from Provincial Shutdown to the Green-Prevent Zone (COVID-19)

The Province has announced that the Leeds Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit is now in the green prevent zone.

The green prevent zone means that businesses may reopen, however, there are still public health measures required. These measures include daily screening of employees, social distancing, clean and disinfecting regularly, signage, capacity numbers and the continued wearing of a mask. Town Staff are back to their physical work environments being Town Hall, Public Works, Visitor Centre and Parks and Recreation.

Town Hall - The offices at Town hall will reopen to the public from 10:00am to 2:00pm Monday to Friday beginning February 22, 2021. It is encouraged that any municipal business that can be conducted over the phone, email or digital meetings continue at this time. In person meetings are discouraged. Should an in-person meeting be required, please arrange a specific date and time with the required staff member. These guidelines are to maximize staff and the public’s safety.

Visitor Centre – The visitor centre is open to the public at this time with a maximum of four people in the building. Residents are permitted to view the Town Hall Park plan proposals at this location Tuesday to Saturday 10am-4pm, closed 12:30pm-1:30pm. Alternatively, the proposal can be viewed on the Town website.

Lou Jefferies Arena – The Arena is open for scheduled rentals only. All COVID-19 screening protocols are in effect as is outlined on the Town’s website for ice rentals.
