Gord Brown Memorial Canada 150 Outdoor Facility Construction Delay

Town News

Regretfully, due to the early arrival of winter, construction of the Gord Brown Memorial Canada 150 Outdoor facility has been delayed until 2020.

The Town recognizes the benefits this new facility will bring to the community. It is important that all phases of the project are managed accordingly to ensure that the community can benefit from this new service for years to come.

Winter conditions can have a negative impact on a variety of components during construction. As a result, completion of phase 1 construction has been delayed until spring 2020 when the weather will be appropriate for the work to be completed.
In the meantime, the Gord Brown Memorial Canada 150 Outdoor Facility Advisory Panel continues to meet to make recommendations to Council related to marketing and promotions and programming and use of the facility, and to plan a community celebration event. Further communications will be shared as details are finalized.

The Gord Brown Memorial Canada 150 Outdoor Facility is located at 600 King Street East in Gananoque. This year-round outdoor recreational/event facility will be used by local residents and visitors to increase access to recreation in the greater community.
