Gananoque, ON – The Town of Gananoque and Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands are launching the Make a Life, Make a Living Storefront Vacancy Initiative, to help promote entrepreneurship in both municipalities.
The first installments of this project can be found on the main streets of Gananoque (167 King Street East) and Lyndhurst (415 Lyndhurst Road, Lyndhurst). At these currently vacant storefronts window decals have been installed, 3D renderings of what potential storefronts could look like have been placed on the windows, a QR code is in place to draw people to the Town of Gananoque and Township websites in order to learn more about starting a business in our region.
“This initiative has been designed to help people imagine what their storefront could look like. We want potential and current business owners to imagine their own products and their own company in that storefront, in the hopes that it will draw more business to our main streets.” Stated McKenna Modler, Red Project Coordinator.
“We have an incredible group of passionate businesses owners, this project will also help to highlight what our communities have to offer by increasing traffic and awareness of our current storefronts. We want to fill our main streets, attracting new and current residents or visitors to our areas promoting growth in our communities.” Continued Modler.
While you’re in Gananoque or Lyndhurst, stop by these storefronts, pull out your phone and scan the QR code to learn how you can start a business in Gananoque and Township.
During the next few months, be sure to keep an eye out for further marketing on our Make a Life, Make a Living storefront initiative in hopes to bring more attraction and visitors to Gananoque and the Township.
This project is funded in part with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs.
