Shop, Eat, Spend, Enjoy Local in Gananoque and the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands

Town News

Join the 1000 Islands Gananoque Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Gananoque and the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands (TLTI) in their upcoming 2nd Annual Shop Local Campaign.

Starting November 01, 2021 and running until January 10th, 2022 we are asking the community to track their local spending. Purchases made at local establishments can be submitted and tracked via the website gananoque.ca/shop-local. The website will also help participants to discover businesses via an interactive map. Each participating business will be marked with a candy cane on the map and will link to their websites and social media, providing users with up to date information about when and how they can shop.

“If you are a local business, restaurant or owner of an entertainment venue in Gananoque or TLTI, we want to get you involved. Our Shop local campaign is designed to encourage community spending and supporting our small business partners.” Stated Bill Stewart, Executive Director for the 1000 Islands Gananoque Chamber of Commerce.

During the next 10 weeks, we ask that you enter your purchases and help us reach the goal of tracking $45,000 spent locally.

How this works:
Businesses who are participating in the Shop Local Campaign will provide shoppers with a post card that contains a QR code, simply open the camera on your device and scan the code, this will direct you to the website that will allow you to enter in your information.

Each week, we will be choosing a winner from the participants to receive a local prize package. In the final week we will be announcing the grand prize winner who will receive a stay-cation bundle.

Let's support local this Christmas!
