The Corporation of the Town of Gananoque (Town) is initiating a Schedule B Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Study to evaluate replacement strategies for the Hudson Bridge, located on Machar Street, approximately 1.5 km South of Highway 401.
Structural and usability deficiencies have been noted and the Town is investigating the bridge’s replacement. Detailed investigations of the bridge are underway, and the results will determine appropriate methods of replacement. Some of the project alternatives being considered include: do nothing, bridge replacement with a modular one lane Bridge with pedestrian facilities and construction of a new one lane custom truss bridge with pedestrian facilities.
Public input and comment are invited, for incorporation into the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process and the determination of a preferred alternative. Subject to comments received and the receipt of necessary approvals, the Town intends to finalize the detailed design for this bridge by the coming spring of 2019 in advance of expected construction.

PUBLIC CONSULTATION
An integral component of this project is to undertake direct consultation with affected stakeholders, agencies and the public. As such, a Public Information Centre (PIC) has been scheduled. The PIC will have an open house format, during which the Project Team will present conceptual design information relevant to the project and address any questions or concerns.
