Bats are efficient pest controllers consuming three times their body weight in insects per night.

Council Meeting Highlights – May 21, 2024
- Mayor Beddows announced the Champions of Gananoque Award Recipients: Pat Funnell, Jessica Steacy and Mike Richard. Recipients’ names will be etched in the plaque at the Lou Jeffries Gananoque/TLTI Community Centre Arena.

The Splash Pad will be closed until maintenance repairs can be completed. It is not anticipated to be back in service until – May 24, 2024.

Spring Clean Up Tips
Spring has sprung! This time of year is often the time for doing some clean up around your yard, at the cottage or any property you own. The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit want to remind you that this activity can expose some hazards that may not be safe.
National Public Works Week is May 19th - 25th, 2024
This week is dedicated to educating, engaging and informing the community about the essential role Public Works plays in our quality of life. Not only that, but its an opportunity to promote Public Works as a career choice.
Public Washrooms Open for the Season
The washrooms behind the Lou Jeffries Arena and Town Hall Ball Park will be open starting Friday, May 17 at 8:00 a.m. and will remain open until dusk.
The washrooms located at Joel Stone Park will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry Conducting Oral Rabies Vaccine bait distribution and trap-vaccinate-release programs
In 2024, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) will once again be conducting Oral Rabies Vaccine (ORV) bait distribution and trap-vaccinate-release (TVR) programs in Ontario to control rabies in terrestrial wildlife.

- Mayor Beddows declared May 19th to 25th 2024 National Public Works Week in Gananoque.
- Public Meetings were held for Development Permit and Official Plan Amendment Applications. Council had no objection to the following:
