Public Skating at the Lou Jeffries Arena starts Sunday September 8th, 2024 and runs until March 23, 2025.

PUBLIC SKATING:
Participants of all ages can enjoy a leisurely skate around the ice surface. In a continuous flow with the rest of skaters. No sports equipment or outside skating aides are permitted during these opportunities. This is an open unsupervised skate. Standard skating supports are permitted, Wheel chairs are allowed, but must be cleaned before entering ice surface. No horseplay, tag or racing is permitted.

PARENT & TOT:
Parents and Tots (or grandparents, caregivers, etc.), can enjoy this open skate, with no instructor. Strollers, pylons, sleds or chairs are not permitted on the ice. Standard skating supports are permitted. No carrying children while on the ice surface. All participants must wear ice skates. CSA approved helmet are recommended but not required. 

ADULT SENIOR SKATE:
Come out and enjoy the music, friendship, and exercise. Skilled, novice, and beginner skaters welcome. Helmets are strongly recommended for all participants but not required. For skaters 18 years and up.

***Please Note: Subject to change without notice. Blackout dates may apply due to Tournament Play and Private Bookings. Closed on Holidays. Please see calendar at arena.

Skate aids are permitted. No chairs, sleds, strollers/carriages, shoes/boots, pucks or sticks on the ice during public skate times. Non-Contributing Rates are for participants that reside outside the Town of Gananoque and the Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands (TLTI).

The Lou Jeffries Arena is closed during these holidays throughout the year:

2023/24 Season Ice Rental Fees (Contributing and Non-Contributing Fees):
The new rate fee entitled “Non-Contributing” was initiated in order to charge a higher ice rental fee to any user group that is not based out of the municipalities that contribute to the yearly operating and capital costs required to maintain the TLTI/Gananoque Lou Jefferies Arena. The new rate fee will apply to any user group(s) that are outside of the Town of Gananoque and Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands (TLTI).

Gord Brown Memorial Canada 150 Outdoor Rink (GBM) 

The GBM Canada 150 Rink will be open mid May for public use.

Please note: Private bookings at the Gord Brown Memorial Canada 150 Outdoor Rink are currently not available at this time.

New Co-ed Group Fitness Classes in Gananoque starting in September!

Afterglow Fitness Class

Monday nights starting Sept 16th 6-7pm, Upstairs Hall Lou Jeffries Arena. Strength train and sculpt using hand weights and your body weight while toning and applying concentrated moves in this 1-hour class led to music in a group atmosphere by Fitness Instructor Lori Higgs. It’s a total body workout that’s totally doable for anyone and everyone looking to get fit.

This is a co-ed class, and all fitness levels are welcome. Please bring hand weights, a mat and water.

BODY60 Fitness Class

Wednesday nights starting Sept 18th 6-7pm, Upstairs Hall Lou Jeffries Arena. This BODY60 Class uses your bodyweight to get you into an optimal training zone and boost fitness levels in a cardio driven class followed by a core segment. Whether Cardio Boxfit, HIIT, or Tabata style, you never know what you are going to get, except a great workout! This class is intense, but it’s worth it because you’ll be burning fat and calories while working out in a group atmosphere to music and being led by Fitness

Instructor Lori Higgs. This class is a co-ed class and open to all fitness levels. Please bring hand weights, a mat and water.

Homebody Yoga Studio

A welcoming space where you can stretch, move and rejuvenate your body.  It was created for the community of Gananoque to gather and melt away daily stresses. The Studio is located above the Homebody Wellness store at 116 King Street East. Whether you are an experienced yogi, returning to the mat, or trying out yoga for the first time, there are a variety of classes to choose from. Starting in April they are offering a monthly unlimited yoga membership as well as drop-in classes.

Tennis & Pickleball - Free use of facility - 600 King St.

Badminton

Gananoque Pickleball Club
Recreational Play for all experience/fitness levels.

Fall/Winter
As far as indoor play, Thursday evenings (starting late October) until January. After the Christmas holidays, we will be playing on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7:30 for recreational play and beginners and from 7:30-9:00 for intermediate more competitive experienced players. Drop in fee is 5$. No sign up, just show up at appropriate times.
