Styrofoam packaging materials are now accepted at the curb in your blue box.
The Town does not have a landfill site or transfer station. Bulk items, lumber, scrap metal, electronics, brush and leaf and yard waste must be transported to a licenced facility. Click the link for a list of disposal facilities or contractors.

Garbage Bag Tags
Each garbage bag to be collected must have a bag tag on it. Tags cost $2.50 each and can be purchased at any of the following locations:
- Town Hall – 30 King Street E. (only debit or cheque accepted)
- Metro – 333 King Street E.
- Home Hardware – 875 Stone Street N.
- Whites Grocery – 91 Stone Street
Household Hazardous Waste Disposal
Household Hazardous Waste material such as oil, gas, paint, cleaners, pesticides, herbicides, fluorescent light bulbs, etc is not accepted in regular waste disposal. Hazardous Waste must be disposed of properly at special events throughout the summer. The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville holds special hazardous waste disposal events throughout the summer. The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville holds hazardous waste disposal events in July, August and September.
Town of Gananoque Residents can dispose of their hazardous waste free of charge.
