The disruption includes:
October 29 and 30 and November 2 and 3, the Town and its contractor will be completing sewer main cleaning in the following areas:
- James Street South from King Street East to Pine Street East;
- Pine Street East from James Street South to Elmwood Drive;
- Elizabeth Drive from William Street South to King Street East;
- Churchill Drive between Pine Street East and Elizabeth Drive; and
- North Street between Charles Street North and James Street.
Every precaution will be taken to minimize impacts to residents during this exercise, however there may be some inconvenience. During this program, residents with homes in these areas are advised to keep toilet lids down, especially toilets located on main and basement levels of homes.
Loud gurgling sounds will be normal, and in some cases, splashing up from toilet bowls may occur as sewer mains are cleaned with high pressure equipment.
