The Public Works Yard at 665 Charles Street N will permanently close to the public on August 19, 2026 for the disposal of waste and compost materials.
This urgent change is necessary to ensure the Town remains in compliance with regulations established by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP). The Town no longer accepts waste or compost materials of any kind at the Public Works Yard at 665 Charles Street N, accessed via James A. Brennan Road.
Residents are encouraged to make use of the Town’s leaf and yard waste curbside collection and brush curbside collection programs when available. Materials that are not accepted through curbside collection programs must be taken to a licensed waste management or composting facility outside of Town.
Please watch for alternative options for discarding of other items in the future.
