NOTICE:
Some garbage bins have been removed from the BIA for the winter months.
Please note that no person shall deposit waste generated on private property into public space garbage cans as these bins are intended for general public waste from pedestrians not household waste.
The garbage bins placed in parks and along sidewalks are provided to help protect the environment and should be used as intended — for single, small waste items only. The following should NOT be placed in those receptacles:
• Household garbage bags
• Hazardous or medical waste
• Electronics
• Recyclables
• Compostable material
• Cat litter
The Town also notes that littering and illegal dumping, which would include putting household garbage bags or bulk items into public bins or near them, are offences under the Town’s by-law and can result in fines.
