This award is to recognize residents who are making a difference in the recreation/sport community. The Town puts out a call for nominations for the Champions of Gananoque Award, encouraging the community to nominate individuals who, through volunteerism have a direct impact on recreational and competitive sports in Gananoque. The nomination process was used to select three individuals per year to receive the award.
On August 28, 2023, Mayor John Beddows presented the 2023 recipients with their plaques outside the Gananoque and T.L.T.I Recreation Centre.
