  • Council gave a Shout Out to the following Local Athletes: 
    • Zach Pelehos drafted to the CFL as a member of the Ottawa Redblacks
  • OFSAA Track & Field Results:
    • Kaylee Clark-1st-Senior Girls Javelin-46.89m (her best this season)
    • Josh Dion-11th Novice Boys Shot put-12.18m
    • Devon Rayner-12th Senior Boys Long Jump-6.13m and 20th Senior Boys Triple Jump-12.20m
    • Jaylynn Whitehead-18th Novice Girls Javelin-23.96m 
  • Les FestivÎLES – Bilingual festival is taking place the end of July to celebrate and welcome French tourists to Town
  • Hal McCarney Park (William Street South) Dedication was a success – Special Thanks goes to the Gananoque Rotary Club 
  • The Berm Out program will be happening again for 2022
  • The Residential Tree Planting program is coming to a close but some trees are still available
  • New Murals engaging local Youth will be created and placed on the Visitor’s Centre and the Garden Street Walkway early this summer
  • The Town Park project is targeted for completion near the beginning of July  
  • The Lowertown Revitalization project should be completed late June 
  • The Town Park Ball Diamond completion will late June
  • An Agreement was signed with Morrison Hershfield Ltd., to complete the engineering design for Arthur Street Rehabilitation between Stone and Charles Streets, in the amount of $80,945.
  • Council approved and adopted the 2022 Asset Management Plan.
  • An Agreement with Geramon Irrigation for the purchase and installation of a 15HP Aerating Fountain for Confederation Park in the amount of $73100 to be funded by various partners, including the Tourism Advisory Panel, Thousand Islands Accommodation Partners, Downtown BIA, and the Rotary Club. 
  • A Programming plan was approved for the Canada 150 Gord Brown Memorial Outdoor Rink which includes summer and winter events, leagues, camps and activities.
  • Council adopted a spending plan for the Canada 150 GBM Rink in which $250,000 was received from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) for various components.
  •  An agreement with Southeastern Telecommunication was entered in the amount of $68, 856.70 for the Closed Circuit Television Project (CCTV)
  • Council received the Integrity Commission Report regarding Councillor O’Connor and voted to issue a Letter of Reprimand
  • Council approved a $500 grant towards a commemorative bench for Richard Fergusson, former Town Employee to be placed at the Water Treatment Plant
  • Council approved the Artefact Oversight Committee’s request to store part of the Town’s Civic Collection on the Town’s Third Floor.
  • Council directed staff to bring back a by-law to amend the signage by-law to limit municipal election signs to 40 in quantity and the size to be 18” x 24”
  • Council directed staff to bring back a report regarding an amendment to the 1000 Islands Kayaking Lease Agreement regarding boat placement.
