Town News
  • *Notice of Public Meeting For Class III Development Permit Amendment Public Meeting on TUESDAY, JUNE 7, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. via TELECONFERENCE and IN-PERSON – Horizon Legacy – to include a fifth residential building and alter layout of the property located at 425 Fourth Street. 
  • Council approved an additional community grant to the Gananoque Humane Society in the amount of $1,500 to offset the fees for the rental of tables, chairs and garbage bins for its fundraising event being held at the Lou Jeffries Arena.  
  • Council approved an amendment of the General Fees and Rates By-law to allow an hourly rate fee for park rentals. 
  • Council is creating a partnership with the Thousand Islands Association (TIA) to install and monitor a Seabin (In-water Trash Collector) at the Municipal Marina.
  • Council referred the Pickle Ball Club’s request for permanent posts and wind screening to the 2023 Budget Deliberations for consideration.
  •  Council awarded the contract for the Black Snappers Trail Bridge to Willis Kerr Contracting Limited to complete the rehabilitation work to an upset limit of $72,911 (excluding HST).
  • A Budget Deviation of $21,945 was approved for the purchase of a 2018 GMC Sierra crew cab pick-up truck from Gananoque Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac and directed staff to repair the transmission on vehicle #3209, at a cost of approximately $4,000.
  •  Council approved a $2,500 Community Grant to Power Boating Canada to facilitate Poker Run expenses.
  • Council directed staff to proceed with Municipal Heritage Insurance Premiums based on new appraised limits of $6,137 at Town Hall and $1,758 at the 110 Kate Street.
  • The Capital Matters Pending Report was received.
  • The Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) Compliant 2022 Budget was approved. 
  • Council concurred with the Artefact Oversight Committee’s recommendation to keep the items from the Town Park Excavation outside the Town’s Civic Collection.
  • The Non-Union Administrative Staff Wage Grid was amended.
  • Council defeated the request to accept the donation of a Hientzman Upright Piano from Tubears Bryant to be located at the Kinsmen Building.
