The Town of Gananoque, along with community partners, is pleased to present WINTERPALOOZA 2023, featuring a fun-filled schedule of events to take place over the entire month of February, including special Family Day activities for all to enjoy.
Beginning on Saturday, February 4th, join in the energizing fun with Gan Fitness during various skating sessions at the Gord Brown Memorial Canada 150 Outdoor Rink!  Adults can participate in the Adult Fitness Skate between 8:00 – 9:00 AM and later, kids can take the ice for the Youth Skating Techniques Class from 1:00 – 1:30 PM (ages 4-6) and the Skating Superstars Class from 1:45 – 2:15 PM (ages 7-11). 

Continuing on, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM – kids of all ages can visit the Gananoque Arts Network to decorate a cozy winter mitten craft! Keep an eye out for these heartwarming mittens to be strung up throughout various locations in town, as we all share in the beauty of winter in Gananoque. This unique Children’s craft will return on Saturday, February 11th from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Gananoque Arts Network for more participants to enjoy. 

The Gananoque Arts Network is also collaborating with talented local artists who will be displaying their hand-painted WINTERPALOOZA Toboggans that you will see placed throughout several hot spots in Gananoque each weekend in February. Be sure to stop and capture a snowy photo to share #WINTERPALOOZA. 

Cheer on your local leaders at the Friends of Gord Brown Memorial Hockey Game on Friday, February 10th at the Gord Brown Memorial Canada 150 Outdoor Rink! The puck drops at 7:00 PM so grab a snack, wear your team colours and join in the fun.

Enjoy time with family during the Public Skating sessions taking place every Saturday in February between 2:30 - 4:30 PM at the Gord Brown Memorial Canada 150 Outdoor Rink with a special visit from the WINTERPALOOZA Ice Princess on Saturday, February 11th.
The Gananoque Arts Network will be hosting a Drumming Circle at Town Hall Park on Sunday, February 12th at 6:00 PM with special guest, celebrating the winter solstice and Canadian resilience.

Skate with the very best on Thursday, February 16th when NHL Alumni, Alyn McCauley and Todd Gill, make a special visit to Gananoque to take the ice between 4:30 – 6:30 PM at the Gord Brown Memorial Canada 150 Outdoor Rink. Brought to you by Gan Chev with generous support from the Rotary Club of Gananoque who will be providing free hot dogs at the event.

Gather down by the Waterfront for a fantastic Family Day featuring horse drawn wagon rides between 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Be sure to visit the 1000 Islands History Museum to enjoy live music from Erica Lamon from 12:30 – 3:00 PM as well as face painting and kids crafts. Also, check out the Thousand Islands Boat Museum to enjoy delicious hot chocolate and hot dogs, and a take home kid’s boat craft too! Families can also enjoy outdoor activities hosted by the Town of Gananoque at Joel Stone Park between 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. 

Last but certainly not least, the Gananoque Curling Club will be hosting their WINTERPALOOZA Bonspiel on Friday, February 24th and Saturday, February 25th. Grab a partner and join the Doubles Open Invitational Bonspiel between 5:00 – 11:00PM on Friday with live entertainment and a hearty stew dinner available for purchase. The fun continues into Saturday with the WINTERPALOOZA Bonspiel between 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM as well as lunch, prizes, more live entertainment. Registrations close on February 17 so be sure to book your spot today.
