Waste Reduction Week & Curbside Giveaway Day

Waste Reduction Week in Canada is held every October as a reminder of the ways everyone can reduce the amount of waste going to landfill and to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable consumption.

We all have a role to play in helping to reduce waste and minimize the amount of waste going to landfill. We need to work harder to reduce waste by reusing, recycling, repairing and repurposing, not just this week, but all year long.

Help reduce waste this month, and every month, to reduce our environmental footprints.

Curbside Giveaway Day is one action we can take this month to reduce waste going to landfill. October 21, 2023 from 7am-7pm place your gently used unwanted items at the curb for giveaway day. Let’s help “someone’s trash become someone else’s treasure”.

A community-wide initiative to re-purpose and recycle your gently used unwanted items that are not ready to be thrown away.
