Canada Post Service Disruption | Important Property Tax and Utility Bill Payment Information

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers have launched a national strike as of September 25, 2025. Due to the strike, the delivery of municipal documents will be affected. These include property tax bills, water and sewer billing, Planning Act applications and other municipal notices.

The current water bills will be sent out this month (October) and we suggest you switch to e-billing. Please contact our Utility Administrator at utilitybills@gananoque.ca to have your account updated.

You are still required to pay bills, fines on time. Payments can be made during business hours:

  • Online or Telephone Banking
  • In-Person at Town Hall or visit your financial institution
  • Pre-Authorized Payments

Any Public Notices for Planning Advisory Committee/Committee of Adjustment such as division of land, official plan amendments or development permits, a physical sign will be posted on the subject property. Applications may be sent using alternate delivery methods such as hand delivery, newspaper or courier. Residents are encouraged to find public notices online by viewing the public meeting agendas: www.gananoque.ca/town-hall/public-meetings.
