- Delegations:
- Steve Reed appeared before Council to request the Removal of Reserve to regain access to his property via parking spaces on Main Street. Council passed a motion to direct staff to bring back a Council Report regarding the removal of the reserve placed against access to the owner’s parking lot on Main Street.
- Jody Lundrigan appeared before Council to speak to the Integrity Commissioner Report, dated May 16, 2025.
- Council passed a By-law to amend By-law No. 2021-081 – Ice Allocation Policy, to
include revisions related to:- Guarantee ice allocation for all users,
- Application submission timeline; and,
- Tournament guarantees.
- The 2025 Strategic Plan Update report was received for information. Council passed a motion directing staff to hold a public meeting and open an online public input session, keeping the current Strategic Plan mission and vision statements.
- The 2025 Quarter One (Q1) Forecast and Budget Variance report was received for information.
- As part of the daycare renovation located at 400 Stone Street North, Council approved $153,468.22 towards the funding of the playground surface, with the balance to be drawn from capital reserves. A By-law was passed to authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign an agreement with Park N Play Design Company Ltd., for the procurement of services to complete the removal and construction of the playground surface.
- Mayor Beddows put forward a Notice of Motion directing to staff to bring back a report for Council’s consideration regarding establishing a Privacy By-law specifically investigating one’s right to be free of surveillance on their own private property, and; requested that recommendations be provided with enforcement penalties.
- Mayor Beddows advised that a Public Meeting will be held during the Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 15, 2025, for the purpose of considering a proposed Class III Development Permit Application No. DP2025-09 – 580 Queen Street – Patterson Construction Inc., to construct a two (2) Storey Addition with Garage.
- Councillor Koiner put forward a Motion directing staff to bring back a report amending the Council Code of Conduct Policy to include provisions for remedial or corrective action(s) to ensure that inappropriate behaviour or activity does not continue, and; that staff consult with legal counsel regarding accepted terminology that is permitted in law. Council unanimously passed the recommendation.
