In order to make improvements to our electrical system there will be a power interruption affecting customers in the following area; Customers on James, William, Brock and Garden Street (Only customers who have received this notification are affected).

DATE: Thursday, January 18th, 2018      

TIME:   08:00 to 12:00 noon

If for some unforeseen circumstances the interruption has to be cancelled the interruption will be re-scheduled at a later date.

The outage is necessary to carry out maintenance work safely that will upgrade equipment, improve power delivery reliability and reduce the risk of unplanned or “forced” outages.

By providing start and finish times for this service interruption, we are trying to minimize any inconvenience of power loss to you. Please be advised, that it is the customer’s responsibility to make alternate arrangements if there is a need for power.

Please be advised that Confederation Pedestrian Bridge is closed until further notice due to excess water flow. Please use caution if in this area.

Curbside Christmas Tree Collection

Public Works staff will be collecting Christmas Trees curbside starting on Tuesday January 2, 2018 as well as the week of January 8, 2018. Please be aware that this is for real trees only and all decorations must be removed.

Alternatively, if you wish to drop your tree off, you may do so behind the Lou Jeffries, Gananoque & T.L.T.I. Recreation Centre located at 600 King Street East. Just look for the pile of trees and place your tree with the rest of them. The trees will be burned during the Family Tree Burn and Skate on Family Day, Monday February 19th, 2018. Stay posted for details for this event.

Waterfront Construction Updates

The first load of hollow core arrives on Monday, December 18th there will be cranes and multiple larger trucks to help accommodate this phase in the construction process. Please avoid the waterfront area as road closure will be happening.

Please note that road closures will continue to take place in December, weather permitting as RMP Construction and Development Inc continues to build Islands Harbour Club.  Water St will be completely closed for the Hydro crossings next week. Access to Kate St will be by St Lawrence St until the closure is completed. This will include access to the South parking area. Efforts are currently on schedule.

UPDATE: Disruption in Service - Town Hall Parking Lot

There is currently a planned service disruption. Please see attached Notice of Disruption which extends the timeline to Friday, November 24th,  dependant of course on weather and progress with the exploratory digs. The disruption includes: Town Hall Parking Lots.
