  • A Class III Development Permit was approved to temporarily permit an Automotive Sales Establishment at 760 Stone Street North.
  • The Outdoor Patio Policy was amended. The Public Works Department will consider the addition of another accessible parking space to replace the one that is seasonally covered by an outdoor patio.
  • Council received the Facilities Building Condition Assessment - Phase Two for information to be utilized in future budgeting and asset management planning. Six additional buildings have been added to the assessment including the Emergency Services Building on Herbert Street and the Thousand Islands Heritage Museum and the Thousand Island Boat Museum Building A, B, C & D located on Water Street for a total of 21 buildings.
  • Council approved the Backflow Prevention and Cross-Connection By-law.
  • Council amended the Delegation of Powers and Duties Policy to authorize the Clerk to provide Letters of Non-Objection to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) which would deliver faster response times for event organizers.
  • Increases to the General Fees and Rates By-law were made for the first time since 2016. The services to receive fee increases, include Mortgage Company Tax Notices, requests for duplicate certificates/statements of accounts,  returned cheques, Burial Certificates, Commissioner for Taking Oaths/Witness & Affidavits, and fees associated with Marriage Licensing & Solemnization Services.
  • The Rotary Club of Gananoque presented their Hal McCarney Park Conceptual Working Draft Plan. Approval for the plan was deferred to the incoming Council and staff were directed to seek public input into the design.
  • Council awarded a contract to Welmar Recreational Products Inc., for the installation of protective netting at the Gord Brown Memorial Outdoor Rink in the amount of $61,910, plus the Town’s portion of HST. This is being 100% funded by the Trillium Grant received by the Town.
  • As the final meeting of this Council (2018-2022 Term), Councillors and the Mayor shared their closing remarks and were presented with commemorative gifts.
