Event Description: Enjoy a scenic cruise of the Islands and visit Family Discover Day at Boldt Castle with PBS Characters!
On June 15th Boldt Castle is pleased to host for the first time, Family Discovery Day. The fun-filled day will give parents and children the opportunity to explore a wide variety of fun, educational topics including music, geology, art, animals, reading and horticulture. Guests include The New York State Zoo at Thompson Park, Sci-Tech Center, Westy’s Birds of Prey, a pianist, a harpist, a face painting, a free photobooth, our popular plant a flower garden and Geologist Terry Side. NYS operation safe child will be on hand to issue photo ID’s to children. As well, authors Mona Forney and Janet Watkins of the Izzy’s Closet series will be doing readings and book signings of their latest book, which features a visit to Boldt Castle. Izzy’s Closet is a nonprofit organization that provides basic school supplies, clothing and books for children. One of the ways they fund their programs is through the sale of children’s books written about Izzy, the Groton Library Cat, and her adventures.
Admission to Boldt Castle: Adults (13+ years) $ 10.00
Children (5-12 years) $7.00
Infants (4 years and under) Free
Participating boat lines; Uncle Sam Boat Tours; Clayton Island Tours; 1000 Island Cruises Rockport and Gananoque Boat Lines. Transportation to the castle not included in the Boldt Castle ticket price.
Catch a ride to Boldt Castle about the Gananoque Boat Line for a 2. 5 hr scenic tour with a 2 hour stopover at the Castle. The boats depart at 10 am & 3 pm! Please note: Passports are required!
Or catch a ride on Rockport Cruises for a scenic 1 hr cruise with a 3 hr stopover at Boldt Castle. The boats head out at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm & 2:30 pm. Passports are required!
