Notice to Taxpayers and Residents regarding Town services such as property tax/utility bills, Planning Act applications etc:
Given the impending labour disruptions and Canada Post, residents were reminded they are still responsible for submitting any time-sensitive payments and applications on time during a service disruption. A Canada Post strike could impact Town services, such as receiving property tax or utility bill payments by mail, planning application notices, or other mailed services may be impacted.
Below are options to consider should a Canada Post strike occur:
Payment & billing options during a strike
- Pre-Authorized payment plan
- Online banking
- At your financial institution
- In-person at Town Hall, 30 King Street E, Gananoque during regular business hours - Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm
- Failure to receive bills (property taxes, utilities, etc.) via regular mail does not absolve the responsibility to remit payment by the due date.
Notices for Planning Applications during a strike
Notice of Planning Act applications, such as Development Permit and Consents are normally sent to neighbouring properties by regular mail. In the event of a postal strike, these notices will be posted on the subject property and the Town’s website. https://www.gananoque.ca/town-hall/public-meetings
